Switzerland

From the moment I set foot in Geneva, Switzerland, it felt like stepping into a postcard. The city greeted me with a crisp morning air as I began my exploration by the shimmering waters of Lake Geneva, where the Jet d'Eau proudly stood, casting its mist into the air. Walking along the promenade, I savored the tranquility and the breathtaking views of the Alps in the distance. This charming Swiss city truly represented a combination of history, natural beauty, and cultural richness.

Architecture and History

Wandering through the cobblestone streets of the Old Town, I found myself lost in its enchanting beauty. The St. Pierre Cathedral's intricate architecture and the quiet charm of hidden squares left me in awe. Climbing the cathedral tower rewarded me with panoramic views that took my breath away. Old Town represents Switzerland's largest historical city and it introduced me to my love for gothic architecture.

I also delved into the city's history and humanitarian efforts at the Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum. Understanding the impact of their work on a global scale reminded me of my passion for global public health. Through this experience, I was able to find similarities between the Red Cross and other organizations I'm familiar with, such as the World Health Organization. I hope to serve communities in this capacity in the future.
