My Strengths
I. Empathy
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to step into the shoes of others, possessing a genuine and heartfelt concern for their emotions and experiences. As an Intern at the Alachua County Department of Health and a Fellow at the Equal Access Clinic, my experiences highlight the immense significance of empathy. In these roles, I've had the opportunity to engage with diverse individuals from various circumstances to provide free healthcare services and empathize with their unique challenges. These patients are often facing numerous difficulties at once and at the forefront of addressing health disparities. By actively listening to their concerns, I've created an environment of genuine understanding and compassion. This empathetic approach not only fosters an inclusive atmosphere but also enhances collaboration and teamwork. Empathy catalyzes positive change, driving me to advocate for equal access to healthcare and educational opportunities.

II. Organizational Leadership
Organizational leadership includes the strengths of clear communication, public speaking, and event programming which are highly necessary in any environment. This skill is demonstrated through my role as President of the Undergraduate Public Health Association. As a natural leader, I've displayed the ability to inspire and unite a diverse group of individuals toward a common purpose- our passion for public health. Being the only undergraduate organization on campus to center on public health, I oversee a board of seven officers to create events for numerous students at the University of Florida. These events include guest speaker panels with experts in their field, suture and resume workshops, and socials to unite the community of public health scholars. My strategic vision and clear communication have been instrumental in setting goals and outlining a roadmap for the organization's success.

III. Team-Building
Whether it's for a group project or leading officers in a student organization, I heavily value team-building and its ability to create open communication, trust, and collaboration. This skill is exemplified through my role as the Vice President of Internal Affairs in the Chinese American Student Association. In this position, I brought together twenty-two student officers from diverse backgrounds, creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels empowered while creating events ranging from cultural shows to service and philanthropy. My ability to identify and address any conflicts or challenges that arise within the team has further strengthened the organization's resilience by holding open floors and being approachable to report conflict.

IV. Ambition
Another one of my strengths lies in ambition. As an undergraduate researcher in the Zhe Ma Lab, I've encountered various challenges and setbacks regarding learning new wet lab skills, interpreting results, and presenting to the public. Nevertheless, my unwavering ambition has served as the driving force that propels me forward, even in the face of adversity. I'm now able to perform techniques on my own such as qPCR, cell plating, and Western blots. I firmly embrace failure as a stepping stone to success, recognizing each setback as an opportunity to learn, adapt, and refine my approach.

V. Adaptability
The skill of adaptability has proven to be crucial throughout my experience as a Student Engagement Ambassador for the University of Florida's Center for Student Activities & Involvement. In this role, I manage over 1,000 student organizations in their registration processes and strive to find innovative ways to enhance their member engagement. Adapting to the ever-changing needs of such a diverse community has been essential in ensuring the success of these student organizations. I've learned to be flexible and open-minded, tailoring my approaches to suit each organization's specific requests. Whether it's navigating through yearly registration or addressing concerns related to funding, adaptability has allowed me to find creative solutions and implement effective strategies. By embracing change and being open to new ideas, I've fostered an environment of continuous improvement and growth.
